About AAPL options GEX

Apple options are listed across a wide range of strikes and expirations. The contracts are American-style and settle by delivery of Apple shares, and weekly expirations run alongside the standard monthly series.

The chart combines all AAPL expiries into one net GEX profile and labels the gamma flip, the top P1 and P2 strikes, the N1 and N2 strikes and max pain. Below it, the 30-day heatmap shows which of those strikes have been in place for weeks.

With Apple, levels are usually best read as a range. When the stock is above its flip and in positive gamma, a large peak above and another below the price often frame where it trades, since dealer hedging leans against moves toward either side. Those peaks tend to stay put for weeks, so a strike that has held on the heatmap means more here than a sudden new one. The range view weakens if price drops below the flip, where hedging stops cushioning moves. Apple is also a Nasdaq-100 member and therefore a QQQ holding, so its levels are worth comparing with the ETF's.

The snapshot draws on end-of-day open interest in the most recent report and is published after the US close; it is not updated during the trading day.

FAQ

Can AAPL options be exercised early?

Yes. Apple options are American-style, so they can be exercised at any time before expiration, and an exercise results in Apple shares changing hands at the strike price.

What does a stable AAPL level look like on the heatmap?

A stable level shows up as a strike that stays bright on the 30-day heatmap day after day instead of appearing and fading. Such strikes reflect positioning that has persisted and deserve more weight than a peak seen in a single snapshot.

How can AAPL levels be read as a range?

When Apple trades above its gamma flip, the large positive peaks just above and just below the price mark where dealer hedging tends to lean against moves. Those strikes can serve as the edges of a likely range, a view that no longer holds if price crosses the flip.

When are Apple levels recalculated?

Once each trading day. They use end-of-day open interest as shown in the latest available report for all listed AAPL expirations and are posted after the US market closes.

Levels are derived from end-of-period options open interest and are published once a day. Educational information, not investment advice.
